MICHAEL LEWIS
CONVICTION BASED ON CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE; MAINTAINS INNOCENCE

Case Overview
Michael Lewis maintains he is innocent and claims his conviction for the 2010 murder of Curley Tyler was based largely on circumstantial evidence. He raises serious concerns about conflicts of interest, his waiver of a jury trial, the handling of forensic and cell phone evidence, lost or missing evidence, and whether the prosecution proved guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
MICHAEL LEWIS CLAIMS:
• Conviction based largely on
circumstantial evidence
• No direct evidence tied him to the
murder
• Conflicts of interest involving
attorney and judge
• Unfair pressure to waive jury trial
• Unreliable cell phone tower evidence
• Missing or destroyed evidence
• Prosecution withheld evidence (Brady violation)
• Insufficient proof beyond a reasonable doubt
